Once we have received your head pictures (front, back, top and both sides) and our doctors have made you an opted candidate for a hair transplant, then we can book a surgery date.

Of course; the hair transplant pre and post surgery process will only take three (3) days, allowing our patients to plan additional days in Istanbul or other cities.  At IHT will be happy to assist you with the different sightseeing options for Istanbul and other cities.  Just ask us and we will not only assist with booking an entire holiday, but suggest the best sites to visit during your trip to this exciting city.

IHT and LIV hospital look after all our patients during the entire hair transplant process and up to a year from hair transplant surgery date. We will carefully follow up on the development of growing hair via email, and /or phone controls monthly.

It is important that the first washing be completed in the hospital, so that professional staff may explain to patient the necessary post-operatory personal hair care onwards and for the  first three months following the transplant.

Hospital will issue the necessary medication for the post-operation period to all our patients included in the hair transplant package. Medication includes: antibiotic, painkiller, anti-edema, shampoo, emollient lotion and antiseptic.

Hospital will provide you with a complete guide of all possible questions and answers related to the post operatory period, as well as a guide on medication usage.

After the operation, our hospital will issue all patients a certificate with the  patient’s name, date and the number of the implanted grafts printed on it for any future references.

PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) – this is a hair vaccine prepared from the patient’s own blood and mixed with DNA Activator. It is injected into the patient’s scalp at the end of the operation, so that the implanted roots adapt much faster, and the results of the operation increased.

Our hospital guarantees to all our patients the maximum amount of grafts will be transplanted. The grafts are counted 4 times – during extracting, during classification, while opening the holes and at the time of implanting them. Therefore, a mistake cannot be made in the number of grafts transplanted to ensure the maximum quantity of grafts necessary in each patient, so that the results are seamless.

The hair transplant surgery is completed under local anesthesia and sedation. Patients do not feel pain during operation or post-operatory period. The effect of local the anesthesia can last all day and in some cases there is not even need to use pain killers during the post operation day.

Profound sedation administered via intravenous serum, relieves the initial discomfort from local anesthesia injections and assures total relief and relaxation during surgery. This is essential for the patient, the doctor and technical team to ensure the patient’s comfort, so that they can work freely, thereby achieving the best results.

This is a simple technique, which it consists of extracting, one by one, the follicular units from the donor area, which will be later place in the receiving area. It is a meticulous technique that requires a long process of learning and practice therefore, it must to be carried out by qualified personnel with proven experience.

You will notice that the transplanted hairs will fall during the first month after the surgery; however, during the following three(3) months, the new and permanent hair  will begin growing and twelve(12) months after transplant, you will see the final result.

A hair transplant surgery in Turkey is not just a medical procedure. Almost every clinic in Istanbul offers a package deal: Our patients get picked up from the airport and brought to their  hotel by a private driver provided by the hospital. Hotel room will have already been booked by the hospital and the patient and companion (if any) will not need to worry about transportation on the day of the procedure—the hospital handles that, too. Transplanted grafts are unaffected by the balding processes in the recipient areas and will with you for the rest of your life, unless affected by one of the causes in point number one (1).

As an initial step in the process for a hair transplant, the interested patient on a hair transplant will be required to send us via email or whatsapp five (5) pictures of the head (front, back, top and both sides).  Upon receipt of the photos, we will open a file with additional information required by our hair transplant specialists who will examine the photos and medical history and determine eligibility for a hair transplant and the approximate number of grafts.

The most common cause of hair loss is due to hereditary, found in males or females and it’s called male/female -pattern baldness. It usually occurs gradually with aging and in predictable patterns — a receding hairline and bald spots in men and thinning hair in women. Other causes may include, hormonal changes due to pregnancy, childbirth, menopause, thyroid problems, medication, supplements, stress or even certain hair styles or treatments.  Medical conditions such as alopecia areata (al-o-PEE-she-uh ar-e-A-tuh), may cause patchy hair loss, scalp infections like a ringworm and a hair-pulling disorder called trichotillomania (trik-o-til-o-MAY-nee-uh).
